ADSL2 advice please!

Hi all.
Firstly, although I know ADSL2 is faster, can you tell me if a traditional ADSL modem (Netgear DG834G)supports it?
Why? I'm in the process of changing ISPs to TalkTalk. I have a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that they are ADSL2 and am worried that my existing router won't work. When I ordered it I asked if I could use it and told yes but wasn't convinced by the Tech Support!
Anyone know?

It all depends on your isp and your package, I have a Dlink adsl2 wireless router, but am with tiscali.... bought the router cause tiscali use vmux which my old linksys would not support, best to look on your new isp's web site for router settings and speed before you buy a new one.

Google is your friend

pdf Handbook says

The DG834G gives you instant connectivity with or without wires, and works with your existing
802.11b devices as well as your new 54 Mbps 802.11g devices. A built-in ADSL2+ modem furnishes
direct, always-on Internet connectivity

so I would say yes
