I have just set up broadband my computer is 30 feet from phone socket if I use 2 filters I cannot connect if I use 1 filter I get crackle on the line can I use a 20 meter RJ11 and will this help

Use a normal phone extension lead, put a filter on the end and connect the modem to the filter. If you still get crackle, come back.

I had a similar problem and posted thread i think you have to have a filter on every phone socket that you have a phone connected to. I had all phones downstairs on a filter but forgot about the one upstairs, unplugged it and grt a clear sound no more crackles. i use a phone extension cable and i also posted thread about that and FE assured me that was no problem.
