Adobe Photoshop CS v8 & XP Home SP2

Haven't used my Adobe Photoshop CS v8 for a while now and was checking compatibilty with WinXP SP2 and found a list of programmes that loose loss of functionality when used on a XP SP2 machine which listed my programme having the problem "unable to open"

Ok, so went looking for a patch for this on Adobe site but couldn't find anything relating to it to fix this problem.

So, does anyone know if there is a workaround to fix this problem mentioned above as I carn't afford £130 upgrade to v9

Have you actually tried to run it? I ran Photoshop v4.0 on SP2!

I use this combination, and have had no diffculty.

It is slow to load up, but I guess that is due to the size of the programme?
If you are using hi res images with lots of editing and multiple images open at the same timethen you need lots of RAM ; the hardware might show the strain before the software.

Good luck : its a great program albeit only a few advantages (eg file browser) over earlier versions of Photoshop.

All Photoshop versions from version 6 run perfectly on XP-SP2. Kate confirms that even the early version 4 is ok.
