ADOBE acrobat upgrade - OEM

I bought a scanner which came bundled with Acrobat 7 Standard. Now I have a VISTA machine which needs Acrobat 9. So I bought an upgrade to 9 which I installed. Then it asked for the Acrobat 7 serial number, which I duly entered and it rejecetd it. Apparently because it is an "OEM" version.

It didn't reject it when I originally registered it with Adobe but now I've spent £ 90 on something that won't work.

If you have any way to activate this product I'd be immensely grateful.

Or, if someone has a genuine Acrobat 6, 7 or 8 standard - not OEM - and can lend me their serial number, I'll be able to activate this.

Much apprecaiation after 3 hours on the phone to Adobe, Phillipines, Fujitsu, several departments!
