Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 query

I was removing some old software the other day and I noticed that in the ADD/REMOVE programs feature it showed three entries for the above. The first was Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0, the second was AAR 7.1 and update 7.1, and the third was AAR 7.2 and update 7.2.

I have and always do keep the software up to date and know these other entries are updates for the program but why are they shown as separate programs and not simply added to AAR 7.0 and which if any can or should be removed?

You can remove them, but then you would have to download the latest version (not the update, but the WHOLE thing) and that will install it in one name on this list.
