Adobe 6 Failure

  Wi2l 15:38 22 Jan 06

Some time ago I lost a hard drive. Replaced and system rebuilt with al programs. All was OK until I downloaded Abobe V6. from Adobe main site. I run Win98SE and IE 5 6.0. I can read .pdf files held in My Documents, some sites I can download and "Save as" but not all. PROBLEM the .pdf files no longer open directly in IE. I have tried all the suggestions made so far, uninstalled and reinstalled, changed settings in IE, taken off the firewall [temporary!} etc.

Have you tried forcing Adobe to open in it's own window. Open the Adobe reader and got to Edit>Preferences>internet and clear the box "Display the pdf browser" click OK, then the next time you click on a pdf link in IE, the reader should fire up in its own window where you can save as etc etc.

Sorry Bretsky, that does not work, just checked it and like before, just the Icon, top left corner.
