Administrator, XP Home Edition

I was attempting to back up some data files to a CD and I got the message that I was not authorised to back up these files, and that I should contact the Administrator. I thought that, running XP HOME on my computer I WAS the administrator!!

Can someone tell me how I can make myself the administrator?

The files I want to back up are 'Sidekick' personal data files - i.e there's nothing 'iffy' about them!

Regards, Tristar

You have to be the administrator to back anything up

Is there any other accounts there?

Type Control userpasswords2 into run and check the properties under your name. Add yourself yo the admin class if needs be.
