Adminisrator access denied

I have inadvertently blocked access to my "Internet Options" by invoking
administrator authority...although I am the owner-administrator of my
computer I don't know how to restore the setting allowing access and control
of that feature.
Can you help with instructions?

haven't lost password - none set up for this operation.Think that C:\WINDOWS\system32\Com\comexp.msc has hijcked my default website and set up restrictions prevent reset of default options. All this happened when I tried to update to IE7

If your running XP pro, go to start, run and type 'gpedit.msc'. This is where the different restrictions can be set within XP. Theres quite a lot of options in there so it might take a while to find unfortunately.
