Admin privileges with vBulletin

  Kate B 20:42 21 Jun 06

Evening all - is anyone a vBulletin guru?

This is the situation: some users suspect the admin of a small site running an ancient version of vBulletin of trolling her own board, which is a nuisance, to say the least. Some of the junior admin staff have privileges that allow them to see IP addresses - which I am well aware is an inadequate tool. However, a suspicious junior admin has established that a particularly pernicious troll has a masked IP address - it doesn't seem to be a proxy, it's just masked when he tries to identify it.

It appears that the admin has told her junior admin that she has in fact trolled her own boards in the past, which leads us to believe that the masked IP suggests that she is up to her old tricks. Would the IP of the overall site admin be masked in this way? Any other possible explanation?
