Address bar

Any way of getting my addresses back which were in my address bar?
I did something to delete them, now I can't get them back..(system restore is not an option)..
I have tried entering some, but they just disappear..
If I can't get the old ones back, how do I keep the new ones there?

You've probably got History set to clear out addresses every so often or deleted them from History.

If you go to Tools>Internet Options>History you can choose how long you want to retain them.

Think I on clear history instead of clicking on delete temporary internet files

clicked on history

If you go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab and scroll down, you'll find a Delete Temporary Internet Files when Browser is Closed option; enable it if it isn't already.

It was ticked, think I do it myself out of habit!
Still leaves me wondering how to get my old ones back or keep the new ones from disappearing.

Have you looked in your History files? Click on the History button on the Tool Bar.

I pointed out that you have to set History to retain your addresses for as long as you require from Internet Options i.e. Days to keep addresses in History and then alter the figure as necessary.

Have cleared history files as well.
have altered the days for keeping history, now entering addresses..
See how it goes for a while.
