Adding SS hard disk to computer

I have a HP 'ENVY PHOENIX' computer which is approx 6 months old. It is running Windows 8.1. This computer has s solid stats hard disk of 128 GB capacity together with a 3TB hard disk. The SSD is used to hold my programs (and is designated as being Drice 'c') as it improves the speed of the computer. I have, today, had a message, whilst installing an updated version of LIGHTROOM a message telling me that the SSD is now full (Drive 'C'). Does anyone know if I can install another SSD, of larger capacity, to improve my stoeage capacity...basically as another 'hard disk'. If so would I need to replace the current drive 'C' or would it be allocated another drive letter which I could use to hold my future programs on together with other data.
