Hi, i have a website and i want to add sound to it, so i put the file in my FTP but it only seems to work when you press on an object and the FTP login and password is included in the Link for it (using Dreamweaver) can anyone suggest how i can get around it?

it would be a music file - or would this be illegal?

Quite likely! It depends on the copyright.

If you wrote/composed and performed it, or if you have the composer's permission to use it, or if it is from a copyright free source (if such a thing exists), then it isn't illegal. Just about every other circumstance would be illegal.

Remember that even if the composer is long dead the performance of a piece is subject to copyright.
