Adding a programme to the Startup

Hi,

I have installed a scheduled backup application today which needs to be running in the background to work.

It doesn't appear to start up when I boot up the PC.

I have run msconfig but cannot see it there.

How can I add this to my start up programmes.

I am using WIN98 and XP Home so advice for both OS would be great.

Thanks,

Steve

you can add the programs to the startup
in your registry file. Just broswe to
Hkey_Local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\current
version\run and add your program into that directory

and also add them into the startup folder

Depends on how you want it to start, if you want it to start at bootup the path needs to be put into config.sys, otherwise if you want it to start in windows, put a sortcut into the start folder in Windows.

Paul.

Hi,

Went for the startup folder option...so simple.

Worked immediately.

Many Thanks,
