Adding Firewire to mini-PCI slot

Just got a new PC (for the first time in 10 years!) and I want to add a firewire port to download video from my Canon digi-camcorder. Unfortunately, my PC only has mini-PCI slots. I can't find a mini-PCI Firewire card anywhere.

I understand that a standard PCI card will work if the actual card dimensions are small enough and I can suitably bodge the front plate.

Has anyone done this and can suggest a suitable card, or better still does anyone know of a mini-PCI Firewire card.

I already added Firewire to my work laptop via a PCMCIA card. I assume it's not possible to connect PCMCIA cards to a desktop PC?

click here for a low profile PCI firewire card.
PCMCIA adaptors are available click here , but that would still run into your PCI dimension problem. USB would probably be suitable click here if you can find a sales outlet.

Thanks, low-profile card ordered!
