adding extra drive

iam going to add a dvd rewriter to my computer i already have two drives and was wondering if it would be ok if i used the spare connector on my hard drive to connect it to the mb
would appreciate any advice

Personally I'd take out the oldest CD-ROM and replace it with the DVD-RW.

I'd set the DVD-RW as Master and the second one as slave.

Keep the old CD-ROM as a spare.

Cook2 is about right - two drives is enough for anyone.
The later models will perfom all the older tasks

Hi, yes it would be ok to connect to spare connection on HDD - make sure though that the HDD is set to Master and the CD Rom to Slave. Both drives should be marked to show which pins are master/slave etc.
