adding ddr2 memory and updating graphics card help

  merlin23 11:45 25 Oct 06

hi all just purchased a medion desktop pc from woolworths, 2.8 mhz , integrated graphics, 256mb ddr2 ram running at 533mhz.

motherboard is made by msi microstar model via p48000pro,

what i am unsure about is adding extra memory, i believe i have to add simular amounts eg another 512mg chip ? also looking at ddr2 mem some are listed at using 1.8volts so am unsure what i need.

i am also unclear if i can add a dedicated graphics card mother bord only has a single api slot spare, is this where a graphics card goes, or in a pci slot.???

thanks all

Some older graphics cards use a PCI interface and later ones use the AGP slot.

Memory modules need to match up in type and size.

If you have the experience or one of the many magazine articles (see PC Advisor etc) to guide you and feel confident it is not too difficult - but DO get guidance.
