Add new hardware searching for unknown hardware

  KevFrost 00:34 16 Jul 05

Every time I load up windows, the add new hardware wizard pops up looking for drivers for a piece of hardware which I haven't installed

Absolutely nothing has been attached to the PC, neither internally or externally via USB ports etc.

The add new hardware is looking for CLPCIID or perhaps CLPC11D (not sure with the font)

Any ideas what's going on and how to stop it?

CLPCIID it is linked to PowerDvD but not sure what it does yet...

PowerDVD came with my current package, I have used in the past but an update of MS Windows Media Player insisted on making that my default DVD player, and I never got around to changing that back.

BTW Add New Hardware wizard can't find drivers on my PC, nor or internet
And when I click the 'safely remove hardware' icon in the taskbar, it doesn't list anything other than the modem plugged into my USB slot [Speedtouch ADSL, which has drivers installed]
