Adaware is a excellent free program and well worth having installed on your computer

I assume you have the link for the program but if not click here

Download and run it then let us know how much 'stuff' it found just out of curiosity.

Hi, as a matter of interest - I got a friend of mine to use Ad-Aware for the first time two days ago - Result = 776 removed - 1103 quarantined.

  curlylad 21:19 18 Jan 05

Once done some spring cleaning on a friends PC and removed just over 300 but your 776 takes the Gold medal , unless anyone can beat it of course ?

Me again - I think this answers your question - yes:-))

I ran SPYBOT and it said all was well.
Imediately afterwards I downloaded AdAware and ran a scan It found 68 critical objects I give the details as requested by curlylad But thanks to all who have contributed.
The answer is now obvious.
I shall probably run both systems
