Ad Aware Problems

  Dick 15:54 18 Oct 04

When I run Norton Antivirus it tells me that there are 6 Adware threats on my machine.
It trys to delete them but fails.
So I have often tried to delete them myself.
But cannot find the directory where they are supposed to be. See Below.
I can get as far as Localsetings but Content.IE5
does not show up on my machine.
Any ideas how I could locate this directory and then deleat the files inside?

Bit confused about this.

Norton AV doesn't look for spyware/adware - only viruses.

The file in question should be at - C/Documents and settings/User Name/Local settings/Temporary Internet files/Content.IE5

No, my friend has got Nav and it looks for THREATS of adware/spyware.

Try running these click here and click here.

Also you have probably got your system files & folders hidden in dos and settings.

In Windows explorer make sure that in "tools","folder options","view" "show hidden files &folders" is checked/has a dot in it.then you should be able to see the folder you are looking for.

When you say Norton has found 6 threats is it referring to Bloodhound.Exploit 6 by any chance?
