Active or passive cooling on Windows 7 Netbook

Hi there,

Is there a general consensus as to the 'best' settings for the Processor Power Management System Cooling Policy on a Windows 7 netbook?

I gather that passive slows the processor before increasing the fan whilst active increases fan speed before slowing processor.

I'm guessing that on battery passive is the way to go to preserve battery whilst on mains power active is the natural way to go.

Anyone able to speak from experience on this one? Does it make much difference to battery life?
