I have cloned my XP SP3 lappy drive to usb drive using Acronis. Installed drive into lappy and all seemed ok. The only issue I have spotted is the appearence now seems to be classic mode. I cant seem to change it to anything else. Tried a sys restore to before installed Acronis on cloned drive but no joy. Any ideas? Cheers

Right-click on Start>Properties you should then be able to change it.

no, tried that. Also on desktop properties.
Appearance/windows & Buttons set to classic style.
Nothing else in dropdown box.
Looks like something missing from clone.
Will put old drive back in and check what is available on origional. Not keen on this old classic look!

Hmm, looks like Windows XP Style is missing from the drop-down list - have you tried clicking on the Advanced button in the Appearance window? Though I don't know if that would offer anything more.

It does look like styles are missing!
Just searching other drive for *.theme.
Any easy way to put this right?
Not swapped old drive back yet

If you have an XP disk, you could try a Repair - or you could try running sfc click here

found an old plus disk in my tin.
Installed and menu now available.
Still bit strange that this data was missed from clone!
Not swapped disk to check but am sure origional was ok.
Will tick as resolved.

Thx for your help
