Acronis 2011 and duration of back up

Yet another Acronis question: with 2010, when a backup started, a reasonable duration was shown. Even if it started at 12 hours (say), it then settled down to two hours or whatever.

Why does the 2011 version display something like 46000-odd days, 19 hours, 47 minutes and then move up and down rapidly from these figures? I've only just upgraded and don't know I have enough time for a coffee or if I can prepare a four course meal from scratch!

My other half has the upgrade on his laptop and it behaves normally.

I have found this problem but only during the validation stage.

My hard drive contains about 55GB and I get an estimated backup time of about 21 minutes during which the validation starts with an estimated 'thousands of days, hours and minutes'. It only actually takes between 5 and 10 minutes usually so not a problem.

You will probably get a wider response to this issue from the Acronis Forum. click here

I get exactly the same problem ie thousands of days, but only during validation, effectively though about 20mins gor 41gig backup

Just done a backup.

55GB backed up with an indicated 30 minutes duration reducing immediately to 21 minutes.

Validation stage started after about 16 minutes with an indicated 'less than one minute' duration, which then changed after about 30 seconds to 22498 days 12 hours 19 minutes. This rose to a maximum of 23980 days then reduced to a minimum of 19999 days before rising again to 23461 days. All this took place in 7 minutes.

How boring am I!!!

Pine Man - with all that "activity" to watch YOU won't have time to eat or make coffee.

Do you get a free update from the 2010 version to the 2011 version as i noticed Amazon were still selling the 2010 version for £17.99.

Buteman,

No, you have to pay for the upgrade. I bought 2010 at a reduced price, 2011 upgrade would cost me more than I paid for 2010, so I'm sticking with the old version.

Ok just read another thread where they said that they got a free upgrade so was tempted into buying the 2010 version but will not bother now.
Thanks.
