Task Manager may help.

Go to the acer website and check in the "trouble shooting" and whatever program you used the orbicam for make sure you uninstall it then use the orbicam 3 Times then install the program you need.

Pepper9 - I may have misread your query - I have given you info. for the Acer Orbicam.

I will check the site thanks, but all I was trying to do was to open the camera by clicking on the icon on the desk top.

Have a look in DEVICE Manager - is there anything listed under IMAGING Devices - any yellow exclamation marks - if not look under VIEW tab - show hidden devices.

Will check that in the morning and post back then. Thanks northumbria61.

Is there any imaged editor program you used?

Have checked in Devide manager and it says the camera is working perfectly. I reinstalled the software but when I click to open the caera from the desktop it still gives me the message that it is in use by another programme.

I use Paint Shop Pro, Picassa on the computer and Windows Picture manager to view.
