Hi all,

When l try to boot my Acer 5100laptop, it gives 2 beeps and a screen comes up with :-

ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI in slot 03
Bus:06, Device:04, Function:00.

Press F1 to resume, when l press F1, the XP screen appears for a fraction of a second, then the Windows stop screen with the following :-

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xBACC3528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

Any ideas what could be wrong?

as if one of the hardware components is failing - possibly the network controller, or even the mainboard itself. This is not an uncommon problem with your model, and you'll need to send it back to Acer for a repair.

Thanks for reply.

The laptop is now out of guarantee, it was bought christmas 2006.

I did contact Acer, who wanted over £200 if it is the motherboard.

So obviously cheaper to buy another new laptop.

Hi,

Thanks for both replies.

I have ploughed through the error messages at Microsoft, as suggested by Fruit Bat, but to no avail.

I will have to give up, and accept that the motherboard is at fault, as advised by Forum Editor.

Obviously will not be buying another Acer, as it only just managed to last the guarantee.

Thanks once again for fast response.
