Can anybody throw some light on why I get Memory Access violation in module kernell32 at (some address) when I try to run msconfig or regedit from the Run line?

Not sure why, but if you can get to start, run and you type

you may be able so solve it if you have your operating system CD.

Do you have Anti Virus? Is your AV up to date?

if no AV installed click here AVG 6 Free Edition is free.

Stinger click here might also be worth running first.

Forgot to mention this is 98SE
I have run sfc and reports all OK
Also replaced kernel32.dll from CD
Not too sure about virus but Norton has not come up with anything, otherwise all runs well

Willing to try anything (within reason!)
