Hi everyone,
I am trying to sort my sons computer.
Having emphasized the need to back up ad nausea.
He has done this but has backed up the back ups and
then backed up the backups of the other backups allmost filling the 80 GB drive.
67 GB of this is back up files.
I am trying to delete the back up files to get back some disk space
There are 3 huge back up files which when I try to
delete part way through the procedure I get a message "cannot delete this file access denied" and that`s it, it then stops.

Can you help please.

There's a program called "Unlocker" which will sort out your problems. I cant find the original on my system, but I'm sure if you google it.....

I recommend Unlocker too. If is doesn't do the job straight away, it certainly will do after a reboot. I've used it for years on those files that just don't give up, lol!

Hope it helps

Thanks, Unlocker should do this I think, at the time when I posted there was not enough disk space left even to install this small program. i have now been able to free up some more space. will let you know the results.
