access denied

Hi lads. I have my daughter's computer here. Her My document folder keeps showing Access denied when she tries to open it. She swears she has put no password on it, she doesn't know how. But she does have a toddler who plays games on it off Cbebbies site. So I took the drive out and put it as slave into my compter. Now I can the drive come up in explorer as F and I can see program files etc in fact everything. But when I click on My docs it comes up with access denied. It doesn't ask for password or anything just says access denied. Any ideas how I can get her files off this drive before I format it please? Thanks. Jayne.
ps both drives have NTFS system and run the same Win xp.
