Access 2003 programming

I want to do something that Access does not provide (I think). I have a number of related tables including: student (key StudentID, contains ClassId); performance (key StudentI + date, contains present (Y/N), HW (Y/N/1/2), comments. I want to produce a report having selected a class from a drop-down list, new page per student in the class, with student name & Class has header (after report title like a header in Word) and then list the performanc records where either present = N, HW NOT Y or comments contains anything, finishing up with the text in comments from the special "present" record that has "Sam" in H/W.
How? Should be easy but I can't see how.
