A2-Free `error occurred in the application`

Having just returned from holiday I updated all my security software.

When I attempted to update a-squared free I got a warning tone and a box appeared telling me `An error occurred in the application`. Having never had a problem with the software before I thought a check in these forums worthwhile but have found nothing (unless I`m not using the right keywords).

I have tried a `repair` by reinstalling over the existing program to no effect. As yet I have not uninstalled/reinstalled.

Is this a glitch that others have experienced? Should I uninstall/reinstall?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for your response. Looking at the thread title I would never have got there!!!!

Following the link esbe posted (from your link) it appears there was a problem in the update of the 29th. which EMSI say causes the software to be reinstalled.

I uninstalled/reinstalled and updated with no problems. Looks as if something upset the program, but I can`t think what. Still it`s mended now.

Thanks again.
