Hi there, dont have my 98 diskhandy, hence the question. Running 98 and wont boot up, missing or corrupt reg files i think, ntvdm etc. can i insert disk and choose a repair option as is the case in 2000 or do i have to reinstall, if its reinstall does this mean ill loose all my data? Only one partition.
thanks in advance.

If you start the computer and keep pressing the F8 key a menu will appear, if you highlight the option to start at command prompt then type scanreg/restore the computer will scan the reg and present you with a list of five previous dates, pick a date when the computer was running correctly and hit the return key.
