865 chipset sata driver needed for xp

  red dragon 21:11 06 May 05

Hi All
After my hard drive getting trashed I decided to get another.
I cannot find drivers for the Maxtor SATA drive I now have.
My Optronix motherboard has 2 SATA connections and the drive is being detected in the bios.
I have been on the Intel website to download the drivers, but every one is incompatable.
The ATA controller is 82801EB.
I cant remember which Motheboard I have, but the chipset is 865P or 865PE
Does anyone have the correct drivers?
Thanks in advance

I believe that, unfortunately, you need to go to the Web site of the maker of the motherboard for the appropriate SATA Drivers.

I Have been to the optronix website and there are no mention of SATA drivers

I got confused. My M/b is an Asus. These drives are sometimes called SCIS (or something like that) Drives.

Other than that, I am afraid I am no help. Sorry.

I have an Asus board with an Intel865 chipset like yours....It does not need Sata drivers as the chipset supports individual Sata drives and RAID0 natively.Your Optronix board is almost certainly the same. Probably why you can't find any drivers!

If it is the only drive on your system then bung the Windows cd in a try installing Windows on it.
