720 pixels wide and 300 to spare...

I just can't work this out. I design My Web Page and use all the available (default) width, 720pixels yet when viewed in the browser there is a Bus Lane down the the right side...

because your screen will be at least 800 pixels wide, probably more, so there will be spare space - if you centred it you'd have two smaller bus lanes either side; might look better!

770 pixels wide it fits exactly into an 800 window with a scroll bar on the side. This means it will appear smaller on higher res screens.

I always center my sites and make them 770 wide so I know exactly how they will look on all screen sizes, rather than using percentages.
