trying find a low cost agp card which will be capable of playing DVD's & not really into Games.
Where I would normally buy my stuff from has sold out of the FX5200 cards and I need 1 today.

Also Is the MX4000 card the next up from MX440 ?

DVD playing isn't at all demanding on your graphics card. Most of the advanced technology in a graphics card is there to translate games software into rapidly moving 3-D graphics. A 64MB MX440 would be fine.

My old card was a 32mb nvidia tnt, ny new card is a nvidea fx5200 128mb card There is no noticable difference while watching DVD's

a 64mb card will be ample for watching but if you can afford it, go for a 128mb card.

some games are now coming out with minimum spec of 64mb (broken sword3 will not even start on less than 64mb).

Gongoozler - nothing to do with being a cheese fan (although I am). A gongoozler is a canal boating term for someone who hangs around the locks watching the boats and generally getting in the way! click here
