Whilst setting up a machine, inadvertantly selected 32 bit version for nsteadvof 64 bit of the O/S.

It works well,so question is does it really matter?

What would be gained by reinstalling to 64 bit?

Not unless you have more than 4g memory.

Not all systems can take 64 bit installations, but, if yours can and you can install 4Gb or more RAM, I think there are benefits, not least of all because the extra RAM will improve overall performance

Thank you both

The machine has 16 Meg ram and a terabyte HD

So will will have another go .

16Gb will need the 64bit O/S. 32bit will only be able to use about 3.5Gb however much is available.
