Hello Everyone,

I bought a new Acer computer which has a 500GB Hard Drive. I have an Acer C Drive of 225 GB and a Data D Drive of 225 GB.

First of all, why the total only being 450GB? Could it be that 50GB is set aside for recovery?

Secondly, The C Drive is nearly full. If I load up more stuff will it just automatically start to go onto the D Drive?

Thanks for your kind assistance.

A 500G drive will show as 465G in windows due to manufactures counting in decimal and windows in binary

"If I load up more stuff will it just automatically start to go onto the D Drive?"

you can move your DATA click here but you have to tell programs to install to D by using the Custom install operation

Great Fruitbat. So effectively, I am working with two separate hard drives but I can drag stuff into whichever one I choose and I can also move stuff between them. Is that correct?

Yes except programs they need to stay where they are installed or windows won't know where to find them, but as fruitbat said data you can drag and drop.
