4th July/5th July storm warnings

It looks as though we're in for some pretty severe thunderstorms over the next 24 hours - at least in the south and south-east.

At the moment - nearly midnight - there's a big storm tracking across the Channel from France into Kent, and another one about 300 miles to the south-west of that.

Unplug your routers/modems/computers etc. before you go to bed tonight.

Nice, heavy rain here on the IOW this morning but very little electrical storm activity.

Horrendous storm Chichester area earlier. Moving up towards Guildford.

Road outside my studio is now a river

Addendum to my post: plenty of electrical activity here.

Probably the same storm as rmcqua with the electricals saved for the mainland.

Terrible rain and thunder here in Southampton at the moment!

Lucky here on the North West coastline - miss most of the bad weather and, when we do have the occasional thunderstorm, it's usually sheet lightning over the sea...:-)

But go inland more than about five miles and the weather can change dramatically.

Just remember to plug it back in again...it was only on reading this that I realised why I couldn't download any emails... Thanks, FE!
