Please can any one explain how to transfer 4 track tapes from my radio cassette/cd player to my pc. Thanks in advance.

click here I seem to remember that 4-track means 2 tracks (stereo) and then you turn over the reels to get the next track, ie (and I don't know whether I have the numbering right) for example tracks 1 and 3 are one stereo pair and tracks 2 and 4 the other pair

You find the audio output on the *4track* player, and connect it to the audio input on the PC.

The link above shows it well, If you don't have an audio output on the player, then the only alternative is to buy one that does - or use a microphone plugged into the PC, and simply play the tapes.

I'm with terryf here - I think you may mean regular compact cassettes (which do have 4 tracks, but are not usually referred to as such, as only 2 are in use at any one time).
