£320

Hi I am looking for a laptop for around £320 (max. £350) and not a pound over it. I was think of the Samsung R519 (£350). The laptop needs a good screen (15")quite fast for web browsing, using 2 Office apps at once and listening to music and playing games from 2003 (Child Games)all at any one time. Also I would like Windows XP. The lappy is for a friend. Any Suggestions. I have rounded up six PCs in a booklet typed out by me.

Atleast list:
1.8GHz CPU (Dual Core)
2GB of RAM
Windows XP (Any Version)
160GB or bigger HDD
DVD Drive
Good Speakers
Good Screen

Laptop and good speakers tends to be mutually exclusive. You may well need external speakers if that is a priority. Windows XP is unlikely unless it is a netbook. Your £350 max is going to cause a few problems too.

Well forget good speakers. I will but Windows XP boxed instead. I have rethought my min. spec. Please remark on the Samsung R519.

Min. Specification:
1.8GHz CPU (AMD or Intel) (Dual Core)
2GB RAM
Windows Vista/Windows 7 (No OS will be OK
160GB HDD or Bigger
good Screen

How about the Novatech Explora E16
A penny under budget with Windows 7
Or £319.99 with no O/S if you knock off the two year warranty and select the free delivery option.

For the Samsung R519 (over budget) this appears to be the best price, a good spec. & windows 7

There is a cheaper version of the R519 with an Intel CELERON 1.9Ghz Dual Core CPU - you can compare the 2 different specs. from my previous info.

I had checked out the Explora E16 a week a go and decides to go for the Samsung. I would prefer the Pentium so for a good measure.
