3 usb ports missing

Have Packard Bell intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz media 5095.
3 USB ports have disappeared,have tried uninstalling /reinstall but that did nothing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try going to System Properties(Quickest route-- Windows key + Break),select Hardware, then Device manager.
Scroll down to the bootom and you will see the USB devices listed (Universal Serial Bus), Click the + to open and see if there are any with yellow question marks.

If so, select this and right click and uninstall, do this for all yellow question marks.

Then select and item on that list (It does not matter which),go to the top line and select action, Scan for hardware changes. If this is a software fault, this will fix it.

Have just done what you say but there are no yellow question marks !

Uninstall ALL USB drivers and reboot.

Let windows find and reinstall new hardware and see if the ports return.
