I know how to set a stick of 256MB PC2100 DDR memory in bios but how about a stick of 512MB PC2700 DDR is is set as 166MHz in the Bios ?

Also I want to use a AGP x4/x8 Ti4200 Graphics Card on the Socket A Asus A7N8X-X motherboard, which has AGP x8 support would this card (by Creative at DABS.com) be compatible.

Your help would be greatfully appreciated.

Nforce 2 mobos run better with the RAM in sync with the CPU, so if you have a 266MHz FSB athlon the best RAM to use is PC2100 or the PC2700 running at PC2100. Also 2X256MB sticks will be faster than 1X512MB stick as it will enable the dual channel memory controllers, in the real world you wont see a huge difference but there is still a performance boost to be had non the less. You will probably find when you shove the PC2700 in it will be auto detected anyway but i would still get in to the BIOS and run it in sync (unless you have a 333FSB Barton and then you are ok)

All nForce 2 mobos support AGP8X

I run my Athlon XP 2400+ (266FSB) and PC2700 (333FSB) in sync on a 400MHz FSB BTW, it gives around 1GB/s of extra bandwidth over running it at 266MHz

its the Asus A7V8X-X Via KT400 Chipset not Nvidia !

Thanks for the reply "The Sack"

This looks like overclocking it to me.
