I have a sky bb router connected to a Dlink DIR-301 to re broadcast the signal so i can get it through the house as the sky router is absolute crap.

Here is my set up: desktop and PS3 connected directly to the sky router. 2 netbooks and one laptop connected wirelessly to the Dlink router. My question is, what IP-address should i give the dlink router, and which router should have DHCP enabled. I have connected the D-link router to a Lan port not the internet port as i have connectivity that way. i just want to perfect my system as i sometimes loose connection. Also recently, With the D-link router connected to my sky router, the speed on every device in my home has the same speed as dial up. everything takes ages to load. I am thinking of doing a firmware update as there is one available. Any tips or questions, please do.

thanks, your always a help. Any tips on the slow speed, and could you advise a firmware update?

the slow speed might be because they are on the same channel, see other link, I think you need to get them working together before doing any firmware upgrades.

Thanks Fruit Bat /\0/\

Did the necessaries. Sky router IP - 192.168.0.1 Dlink router IP 192.168.0.2 All devices use 192.168.0.10 - 192.168.0.254. DHCP on the sky, off in the Dlink. Still slow internet though. Sky router reports 6000 kbps, down, but still dial up speeds for all devices. Time for the firmware upgrade?
