2 printers and pc not talking to each other

  driving man 17:26 17 Dec 06

Have a home network --WiFi laptop and desktop using a "dongle"
Also have 2 printers connected by leads to the desktop.
However today for some reason neither printer will work
Leads are ok
Netgear wireless router ok
Zone Alarm used but no settings changed.
Any ideas please

PS as an addendum-- How may I check that the 2 pc's are communicating?

You have come to the wrong place, there is loads in the netwroking forum, to check for printers go to control panel select printers then click add printer, follow wizard, it will ask you to find printer do a browse etc.

NB If u have all the same os systems u are ok but ttricky if different. also if u have different firewalls causes grief.

Go to Start\Settings\Printers, does the Printers have green tick for sharing?

  driving man 07:50 18 Dec 06

no settings appear to have changed
Printer icons show the "sharing" hand and in properties say they are shared
Me, --------- im like "peace on earth" ---Totally lost

With the Computer you want to print from, Go to Windows Explorer Down at the bottom of the Folder Tree you should see Some kind of networking expand to Mshome look for the pinter you want to use and double click on it. you should get a Message to load drivers for the Printer Follow instructions through for it to work
