2 PC's using one Broadband Connection

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest (and cheapest) way to allow two PC's to use the same broadband connection (at the same time)?

I have a Telewest connection but they won't install another line at the same address for my housemate who also wants Broadband.

Would you like to be able to use the internet independantly?

If yes, then I recommend getting a braodband router which will allow multiple pc's connect to the internet

If you don't mind keeping 1 PC switched on in order for the other to use the net, then you can go for the cheaper option of using a cross-over cable to connect both PC's via their Network cards. The second PC will get access to the internet through the main PC.
