After replacing my hard drive and reinstalling everything, I seem to now have two hard drives showing in 'My Computer'. One is the normal 'C' and the second mysterious one is 'Z'. Both drives show exactly the same size.

I only have 1 drive, so could I have done something wrong when installing the drive? ie wrong connector?

The second drive 'Z' has no windows folders at all. It seem to have files relating to my printer which I just installed drivers for. I noticed the Z drive an hour after this.

anyone suggest a fix?

If you have partition magic check the partition table there (view Drive partition)If as I guess it may only be one goto Control panel >system >Device manager > scroll to the hard drives Expand and read properties of each listed when you find the Z drive delete that entry Apply and reboot..
