1.8" V. 2.5"

I'm looking at two X'S drives (portable back up device for photographers)

The two units on the bottom left of the page (6300 & 6210) have 1.8 and 2.5 inch disc drives respectively. Is one of those sizes preferable than the other? I see the 2.5 has a larger capacity...up to 80 gigs! and the 1.8 is set at 20 gigs.

20 should be enough anyway.

Thoughts then please on whether one is inherently better than the other disc dimension wise.

Thank you,

Can't add anything constructive but moving to the top again.

They look interesting devices but, do you need such storage capacity over and above what you could store on your main hard drive?

Portability is the key you see :-)

I can go away for two weeks and shoot my hearts content, simply transfering shots over as I go.

Beats the worry of taking a laptop away with me.

I'm not looking to gain advice on what capacity I need really, just wondering if there are any pro's and con's with a 1.8 v a 2.5 really. Possibly none.

Yet to try it though.

I'll let you know if it works then?

Apparently i've got to buy one of these which i'm seriously considering. click here
I could shoot for a week and still not fill the drive :-)

By all means, but I have a unit here that is going back to the supplier to be changed for one of the ones I have listed on the first post.
Plus it has a viewable screen to confirm successful transfer.

Well, with my 5MP camera I could if I shot all day fill my 1gig microdrive(!) so It's a handy thing to have if you get serious about your hobby/profession.

Yes i have a 6mp/12mp camera and i still wouldn't fill 20gb, in a week that is ;-)
