I have just installed a safecom 1394 firewire internal pci card into a Time computer running xp home.
Under device manager it says 'device cannot be started' Anyone got any ideas?
Troubleshooter does not help, I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

Yes, I have tried plugging a jvc video camera into it, computer does not recognise jvc, and is still reporting as being unable to start!

It says on MS site....

10. This device cannot start. (Code 10) Device failed to start. Click Update Driver to update the drivers for this device.
On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.

You say " jvc video camera " I assume its a digi camcorder ?

Also there is an issue with compatibility with some fire wire cards in some PC`s.

Yes, it is a digicamcorder, I will see if I can update drivers, thanks.
