Run the scan provided on the Crucial Technology site

The crucial scan is a good idea, but some extra information would help too.

Some details about your computer - general age, processor, how much RAM do you have now, what graphics does it use, what Operating System does it use.

You might already know, but if you don't good free software for finding out is PC Wizard2008 from here click here

And can you tell us the sort of things you use your computer for, and why you think you need more RAM.

OK - that all seems fine, and would benefit from an upgrade to 2GB

However - currently you have 2x512MB modules - do you know if you have spare slots in the PC for extra RAM?

I, or someone, can look at the spec, but I have to go out now.

How can you look at the spec?
