0909 premium number scam. Am i at risk?

Just been watching Watchdog on the BBC and I'm wondering if I am also at risk of the premium number dial up scam although i'm on broadband? As I no longer have a modem in my pc, (only a ADSL card), could my pc dial up a premium number without me knowing on broadband? I do ensure I have my Norton AV up to date, my windows patches and updates and my Kerio is the V4.0. What else should I do to minimise risk? I also have a popup blocker.

you're safe.

If you don't have a modem nothing can dial out - your broadband connection connects to an Internet Gateway - not the telecoms network, and all data that streams on the broadband side of your line is digital - a dialer needs to work with analogue lines.

No, not through Broadband, it's a different frequency and will not connect to a normal voice [Analogue] line. j.
