uisng xbox 360 elite with a digital PC monitor hel

I would like to get the xbox 360 elite but want to hook it up to my 22" Viewsonic Digital monitor set at 1680 x 1030 resolution and it is very nice at that resolution. It has a dvi and a vga input but on reading up on the xbox on a pc it will only output the max of 1366 x 768 with vga and my monitor keeps suggesting 1680 x 1050 is the optimum.

Can I go hdmi to dvi and then select 1680 x 1050 in the xbox or will the pc monitor switch it to the optimum ie 1680 x 1050. I dont want to get a new monitor. And I am not too sure what I am talking about but I dont want the games to look pants.

Any help greatly appreciated. Amazon has a good deal on at the moment.

Or should I get a PS3 buthat seems to be 1080p.

a bit lost.

Hmmm, no, I don't think you can. My 360 Elite is connected to an HD TV. Using a converter will not give you that high a resoloution,(I don't think)

But check out the xbox web site and pop them an email....They are pretty good:

You would be better off using a High Def telly I think.

I can fully recommend this lovely piece of kit click here= It's full 1080p and is branded as a monitorTV.

DVI, VGA, 2 x HDMI, 2 x Scart and built in freeview tuner.
