SSD for gaming

Just got 2 x 128GB Corsair Extreme series x128 SSD and installed as a RAID 0 alongside my 4 x 300GB WD VelociRaptors setup as RAID 5(which some sites saying that outperforms the SSD).

First impression was good.

1.Win7 RC 64 bit installed briskly under 15 minutes, all hardwares auto detected without any problem.

2.Windows boots into desktop in 15 seconds, half the time of Vista Ultimate 64 bit on the Raptor (which I thought was good enough already) and shuts down in 5 seconds(Vista on Raptor in 8-10 seconds).

3.All applications installed and run really smooth and quickly, instantly without any trace of micro stuttering.

4.It's ultra quiet, cool, and small enough to put anywhere inside the case,I used double sided tape to fix them inside the HDD compartment.

Will load some games on later and update the benchmarking here.

Ok,now i must admit that i'm finally being left behind by the latest technology.
I understand that SSD's have no moving parts and are therefore faster and more reliable.I understand the advantages of two hard drives in a raid setup and putting your OS on an SSD.But six drives?
Is that not a bit of overkill for a bit more speed?
Does the extra speed for gaming come from the faster hard drive access,in which case wouldn't the increase only be slight?
I'm quite happy with a 500GB HDD and a decent GPU and CPU for my gaming.
I'm not knocking it,just don't quite understand where the extra gaming performance comes from.

<<Ok,now i must admit that i'm finally being left behind by the latest technology.>>

You're not left behind,just that I'm a little bit forward. :-)

<<I understand the advantages of two hard drives in a raid setup and putting your OS on an SSD.But six drives?>>

I hope you understand that these are 2 different RAID arrays(Dual booting),Vista on 4xWD Raptors on RAID5(best setup for this, anymore harddrives performance will drop),Win7 on 2x RAID0 SSD.

<<Is that not a bit of overkill for a bit more speed?>>

I'm very impatient. :-)

<<I'm not knocking it,just don't quite understand where the extra gaming performance comes from.>>

Good point, that's exactly what I wanted to find out.
